The experience has shown the role of the home as a space where life unfolds. The dimensions, having natural light, outdoor spaces, ventilation or the flexibility of the spaces have been factors that have determined the experience of this period, showing that the most vulnerable social sectors have been the most disadvantaged.
Hospital architecture has also needed to have new spaces to take on the health emergency. And with the return to activity after the health alert, it has been the work buildings that are in the spotlight, of how to guarantee people's safety against the virus and at the same time guarantee the quality of the indoor environment.
Sustainability, Health and Safety must go hand in hand. This is a time to approach building in these terms, where the holistic view becomes relevant in order to move towards more humane, healthy, productive, self-sufficient, naturalized buildings and cities that respond to the needs to live a full life.
Spaces as a health tool
To deepen and debate all these aspects, the sixth edition of the Architecture and Health Congress will take place on June 9, organized by the Architecture and Sustainability Group of the COAC, the Architecture and Health Working Group of the COAC, together with Bioarquitectura Mediterránea (BaM) and the Geobiological Studies Association (GEA).
The Congress is structured in 2 blocks that include a conference and a round table each. The first part will revolve around the "Most sustainable, healthy and inclusive buildings" and the second will be on the "Quality of the interior environment as health promotion".
This edition of the Congress is free, but prior registration is required.
